About us

It all started in 2005 with an idea to create a sound and light show at Usk Castle, to commemorate the Battle of Pwll Melyn in 1405 and to promote awareness of Usk Castle and it's historical importance.

The Usk Castle Pageant amateur dramatic group was formed and the resulting spectacular performance of  'Battle & Banquet' presented in the   son et lumiere style, drew crowds from far and wide. Such was the success of Battle & Banquet, the  decision was taken to continue with an annual outdoor drama performance at Usk Castle.

In 2010 the decision was taken to re-name the 'Usk Castle Pageant  amateur dramatic group as 'Usk Castle Players' to better reflect the current performance style.
